Cape Coral attorney Kara B. Rogers, Esq., of the law firm Powers & Rogers, PLLC, has been selected as President of the Lee County Association for Women Lawyers. The Lee County Association for Women Lawyers (LCAWL) is the local chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL). LCAWL actively promotes and supports the advancement of women within the Lee County legal community. LCAWL promotes women’s opportunities and rights by enhancing the visibility of women in the legal profession, the local and state judiciary, and in the Lee County community at large. LCAWL also strives to create and maintain supportive networks among women in the legal and business professions. The new board of directors for 2024-2025 also includes Marylynne Leblanc, Esq. of Smith & Valentine, who is serving as Vice President, and Megan E. Shaw, Esq., of Parrish & Goodman, PLLC, who will be joining the board as treasurer in January of 2025.

Kara is a founding partner of Powers & Rogers, PLLC and practices civil litigation with a focus on business law and contracts. Kara graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education with endorsements in Reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 2017 where she competed for the Stetson Dispute Resolution Board and was the first student recipient of the Kelly Feeley Dispute Resolution Award. Kara also served as an editor on Law Review, was a member of the Honor’s Program, and was selected to join the prestigious Order of Barristers and Order of Scribes upon her graduation. Kara has been named a “Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine for 2024, which recognizes the top 2.5% of the State’s young lawyers, and has been selected as a Litigator of the Year by the American Institute of Trial Lawyers for 2024. She is Lead Counsel Certified in Business Law by LawInfo.
