Megan E. Shaw, Esq.
Supervising Attorney at Powers & Rogers, PLLC. Cum Laude at Florida A&M University College of Law.
If you asked me what I enjoy most about being an attorney, my answer is simple: solving problems.
Every case presents a unique challenge. Sometimes it’s finding the legal argument that everyone else overlooked. Sometimes it’s helping an injured client rebuild after an accident. Other times it’s helping a business or individual navigate a dispute before it becomes something bigger. Whatever the situation, I enjoy digging into the facts, understanding the law, and building a strategy that gives my clients the strongest possible position.
My legal career began long before I became a lawyer. I worked as a personal injury paralegal while earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, and that experience gave me an appreciation for both the legal process and the people relying on it. I later graduated cum laude from Florida A&M University College of Law and have spent my career representing individuals and businesses in a broad range of civil matters, including personal injury, business litigation, contract disputes, landlord-tenant matters, estate planning, and legal malpractice.
Throughout my career, I have found that some of my greatest strengths are legal research, persuasive writing, and preparing complex cases for litigation. I enjoy taking difficult legal issues and breaking them down into clear, compelling arguments. Every motion, every brief, and every strategy is built with one goal in mind: putting my client in the best position to succeed.
While I love the intellectual side of practicing law, I never lose sight of the fact that my clients are often going through one of the most stressful times of their lives. Whether they have been injured, are involved in a business dispute, or simply don’t know what comes next, they deserve an attorney who will listen, communicate honestly, and guide them through the process. I believe that trust is earned through preparation, accessibility, and keeping clients informed every step of the way.
I am excited to be part of a firm that shares those same values. We believe that preparation matters, collaboration makes us stronger, and every client deserves individualized attention—not just another case number. By working together as a team, we are able to provide thoughtful representation while never losing sight of the people we represent.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my son, volunteering in his school community, and staying active within the Southwest Florida legal community. I believe learning never stops, and I am always looking for opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.
Whether your case can be resolved through negotiation or requires taking it all the way to trial, I would be honored to help you navigate the process and advocate for the outcome you deserve.
